Con esta contribución teórica intento dar respuesta a la pregunta: ¿Cómo accedemos a la comprendemos a la vejez, como concepto y fenómeno, explicándola como una generalidad cuyo protagonista sea el cuerpo? La elaboración teórica está sustentada en la propuesta de que es posible comprender la vejez desde el cuerpo considerándolo como un indicador de la experiencia de envejecer y no solo como un órgano de la naturaleza que se patologiza tras en el tiempo vivido, el texto sigue una estructura para el análisis a través de dos vías: a) consideraciones del discurso biomédico sobre la vejez y b) un acercamiento fenomenológico sobre el cuerpo y la vejez. En la conclusión, afirmo que el cuerpo es espacio físico donde se materializa el tiempo, por tanto, el ser puede relatarse desde el cuerpo vivido.

Abstract

With this theoretical contribution I try to answer the question: How do we understand old age, as a concept and phenomenon, explaining it as a generality whose protagonist is the body? The theoretical elaboration is based on the proposal that it is possible to understand old age from the body considering it as an indicator of the experience of aging and not only as an organ of nature that is pathologized after the time lived, the text follows a structure for analysis through two ways: a) considerations of the biomedical discourse on old age and b) a phenomenological approach to the body and old age. In the conclusion, I affirm that the body is the physical space where time materializes, therefore, the self can be related from the lived body.
